Quick Trip To Turku

I made a quick trip to Turku and visited the beautiful archipelago.

You get a real summer feeling when driving along the picturesque Archipelago Trail.

Outside the main summer holiday season it was very handy to catch the ferry between Korppoo and Nauvo.

Weather was a bit moody and we got some sun and some rain.

Turku is a great vibrant summer city where it is nice to have a walk by Aura river.

If you choose to have dinner on one of the river boats I would recommend Svarte Rudolf. My favourite restaurant is Tintå on the other side of the river with a tiny pretty terrace with a river view.

I would describe the place more as a bistro with somewhat modern yet rustic interiors.

There are also bakery products available and the cakes looked really delicious.

And the food is so delicious! Menu had many tasty options with reasonable prices.

After dinner we popped into the neighbour place Blanko to have a dessert drink.

And you cannot visit Turku not going to at least one of the interesting restaurants named after the previous functions at the premises such as bank, school, toilet and pharmacy. Also the old interiors have been preserved so that you can see the safety deposits in the bank and class rooms in the school. This time we had time for only two: The Old Bank and Brevery Restaurant School (Panimoravintola Koulu).

On a way back to the hotel it was still light (it is June after all) so we could enjoy some street art.

Hope to be back to Turku soon.
